TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Is a ground mat really necessary for yoga?

You've decided to take up yoga and when it comes to equipment, you think that your gym mat or camping mat might just do the trick. Not a good idea! To do yoga, a mat must meet certain criteria of grip and thickness. This is necessary to enable you to practise comfortably and, above all, without risk of injury during dynamic sequences and balances.

Why do you need a yoga mat that grips?

"Trikonasana, plough pose, half-candle... During your yoga sessions, you'll go through various postures and balance. So it's vital that your mat keeps you safe to avoid injury and allow you to progress serenely without fear of hurting yourself. And so it needs to be grippy.
Our yoga mat is covered on top with a polyurethane film for extra grip. Your hands won't slip and you'll be able to do a series of tricks.

Why does the Grip + 4 mm mat have the ideal thickness?

In yoga, the thickness of the mat is important. It must be thick and comfortable enough to protect your joints and back during the posture sequences, and enable you to keep your balance. But be careful, for good stability and to feel your connection to the ground, it shouldn't be too thick either. The recommended thickness for yoga mats is between 1.5 and 8 mm. With its 4 mm thickness, our yoga mat is right in the middle of the pack.

What types of yoga can you do with the Grip + 4 mm mat?

With its 4 mm thickness, this yoga mat is ideal for dynamic yoga. Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Bikram are types of yoga with sequences of postures performed quickly and with high intensity. For dynamic yoga, we recommend using a mat of up to 5 mm to ensure good grip and stability, essential for maintaining balance.

Why are lines on a yoga mat such a good idea?

"Doing yoga properly requires deep concentration, adequate breathing and, above all, rigorous precision in the alignment of the body. Inaccurate alignment can lead to pain or even injury.
To help beginners in particular position their bodies correctly, we've added alignment lines to our yoga mats.
"

What are the dimensions and the weight of the Grip + 4 mm yoga mat?

How to look after the Grip + 4 mm yoga mat.

"Over time, dust, creams, sweat and other residues end up damaging the grip layer of polyurethane mats. That's why it's essential to clean them regularly.
To do this, clean your mat with warm soapy water and a microfibre cloth. If the dirt is well embedded, you can leave it to soak for a few minutes. Then let it dry naturally before rolling it up again.Avoid exposing it to the sun".
