How to choose the right size of suit
It's just as important to choose the right size of neoprene suit as it is too choose the right model.
The neoprene suit should be worn just like a second skin without feeling oppressive, and should provide you with freedom of movement.
We designed this Aptonia SD suit with slightly shortened cuffs to make it easier to take off.
Why wear a neoprene suit for a triathlon?
Depending on the water temperature, wearing a neoprene suit for a triathlon is:
- Obligatory if the water temperature is under 16°C
- Authorised if the water temperature is between 16 and 24°C
- Forbidden if the water temperature is 24°C or above
Is there any point in wearing my neoprene suit if it's not obligatory?
Yes, yes and yes! A neoprene suit provides more buoyancy and helps you glide, as well as keeping you warm.
Depending on your swimming level, you can generally expect to reduce your time by between 1 min 30 and 3 minutes over a distance of 1,000 m.
So it will be a precious help even over short distances!
What about the zip direction? It is reversed, is this normal?
We chose to add a zip that opens "normally" (i.e. opens from top to bottom and closes from bottom to top) to facilitate dressing unaided, particularly during training.
